So how do you get started in archery? Like most clubs, we offer beginners' courses for anybody new to archery, where we will teach you the basics of shooting safely and with confidence.
The course last for six weeks, with one evening session of about two hours per week. Only at the end of the course do have to decide whether you wish to join the club. We will provide all the equipment you need during the course, so we will make sure you use the most appropriate equipment that is suited to your physique.
Should you decide to join us, we do not require that you immediately go out and buy your own equipment. This can be done in your own time, and we will provide advice on the best places to buy equipment and help you find the appropriate equipment for you.
Our courses are taught by GNAS qualified coaches and other experienced members. GNAS clubs all follow a comprehensive Child Protection policy, and all coaches are Criminal Records Bureau checked.
The fee for the course is £40 for adults and £20 for juniors (under 18).
Should you decide to continue shooting, you will need to join the club. Click the Membership tab above for details of the fees.
A basic set of equipment including bow, arrows, sight etc will cost from about £130 upwards. There is often good second hand equipment available from various sources, but do make sure it is appropriate for you, and please take advice from us before buying anything.
The spring beginners' course is under way and is full. We will be offering further courses over the summer, so please let us know if you would like to join in.
